Once again the teams, drivers and media arrived at the prestigious Luna Lounge, located in the heart of the Yas Marina Circuit, for the end of season Prize Giving Ceremony, an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and enjoy themselves together after a tremendous first season for the championship.

Ably hosted by the voice of Formula 2 Alex Jacques, the ceremony got under way after a visit from FIA President Jean Todt and a video recap of the season, with trophies for third placed driver Oliver Rowland and his DAMS team manager Francois Sicard before the first of the nights Dallara Awards, with Artem Markelov picking up the Best Helmet Design for his stunning lid and Svetlana Strelnikova grabbing another for Best Team Spirit.

Next came an emotional moment for many in the paddock when championship CEO Bruno Michel came on stage to present a Special Dallara Award to Penny Whitaker, who was retiring after almost 29 years in the paddock working for Formula 2 and its predecessors arrange paddock access, passes, communication stewards decisions and so much more. We will all miss her smiling face, and wish her well for the future.

The ceremony then moved on to the second placed team, collected by PREMA team boss René Rosin, and driver, with Markelov collecting his second gong of the night, before some more Dallara Awards. The Best Pit Stop Strategy award went to Charles Leclerc and PREMA for their audacious call in the Bahrain Sprint Race, before a vote (well, the loudest cheer) for Best Team Radio went to Nobuharu Matsushita, with nothing to choose between Oliver Rowland and Luca Ghiotto for Best Overtaking Manoeuvre meaning both drivers were declared the winners!

The Pirelli Trophy was brought to the stage, with Head of Car Racing Mario Isola explaining the voting process by the international F1 media before calling Leclerc back to the stage for his prize. RUSSIAN TIME were handed their trophy as Teams Champion, once again collected by Strelnikova, and Leclerc returned once more for his Drivers Champion trophy before all the award winners returned to the stage for some final photos.

And then it was time for more music, drinks, and parties long into the night!
