Ralph Boschung was understandably disappointed following the qualifying session last Friday with P16. A clean and mature drive took him up to tenth place at the flag on Saturday, and the Swiss ace climbed 3 places higher the following day – thus scoring twice in a row.
It’s a rare sight when Nirei Fukuzumi is not smiling. The BWT Arden man was having a hard time recovering from an upsetting result in the Feature Race: having qualified a strong P7, a DRS problem made his life difficult on Saturday and hence finished P18. On Sunday, he put his head down and carved his way through the field up to eighth place taking his first Championship point along the way.
Four teams scored points with both drivers at Sakhir: Carlin had a stellar weekend with 1 pole position, 1 win, 3 podium finishes and 1 fastest lap. PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing scored with Nyck De Vries and Sean Gelael on Saturday whilst the Dutchman grabbed some more points on Sunday. BWT Arden’s rookie duo finished in the points three times, with Maximilian Günther even taking his first podium finish on Sunday. Finally, both newcomers from ART Grand Prix, George Russell and Jack Aitken, finished in the Top 10 in the Feature Race.
