The sponsored cap is very important, ADS Securities have supported me for a long time and I’m proud of wearing the brand. So, I always have it with me.
I juggle, and it’s really good for coordination and reflex and I like to do this before jumping in the car. I have a trainer, which I share with Nyck de Vries, but I do most of my warmup alone because we already prepare it before the race and I always like to have the same routine before getting in the car. I have a routine that works for me, and that’s what I should keep doing – juggling is a big part of that.
Majorly important because you need to speak to your engineers during the race and you need to hear them, so if you don’t have them you’re out of connection with the rest of the world! They look uncomfortable but they’re made for you and moulded in your ear, and just takes the noise of the engine out and you can hear people speaking in the pitlane. I’ve never had any pain with them. Sometimes they get a bit disgusting…
I take them before driving for focus and energy, and have done for the past few years. I always take them at the same time, five minutes before the start of the session.
