Santino Ferrucci moved up from GP3 Series to Formula 2, taking the wheel of car #17 at Trident. The young Haas F1 protégé adapted quickly: he qualified an impressive P10 and took ninth place along with two points on his debut.
Charles Leclerc thought he had once again done the job setting a seventh pole position in a row. His record breaking streak was ruined when it was found that his car was in infringement with the technical regulations. The Championship leader was allowed to start the Feature Race from the back row. He mastered the start, passing seven cars into Turn 1. On a different strategy than the race leaders he remained cool to cross the line in fourth.
A mechanical issue stopped Norman Nato on the pre-grid. During the formation lap, he was pushed back into the pitlane and had to start the Feature Race from there. He fought his way back to P7 at the chequered flag, leaving the rest of the field impressed but also giving his team some regrets.
